We had lots of fun warming up for our basketball classes with Coach Dave pretending to be zombies, sumo wrestlers and Super Mario! We learned about the Triple Threat (dribbling, passing, shooting) and practiced each of these skills through a variety of exciting drills and different games.
We learned that when we are dribbling it's important to keep our hand on top of the ball, our head up, and our feet moving. When we pass the ball to our teammates we need to take a step in the direction we want to pass, as well as push the ball from our chest with both arms. Our Super Mario warm up drill was a great progression for shooting as it helped us remember to take two steps before jumping up for our shot as we kept our eye on the basket!
