April 14th - 18th

Happy Easter! I hope that everyone had a lovely long weekend filled with lots of love, laughter and sweet treats! Thank you again to those who were able to attend our assembly this week - it's always great to have families join us 💗

Thank you also to our amazing parent community for the incredibly thoughtful and delicious table of treats this week...it is always very much appreciated!

Art this week with Miss Hirsche...

Learning intentions: (Math - Measurement)
- Students communicate length using units

I Can:
- Measure length with non-standard units by tiling, iterating, or using self-created measuring tool
- Compare and order measure measurements of different lengths measured with the same non-standard units, and explain the choice of unit
- Compare measurements of the same length measured with different non-standard units
- Measure length with standard units by tiling or iterating with a centimetre

Students first explored measuring the length of various classroom items using non-standard units such as markers, cubes, blocks and erasers! Next, we talked about the standard unit of centimetres and then students used a ruler to practice measuring and recording the length of different objects in centimetres.
